About Verified Accountants

Verified Accountants is an independent UK accountancy directory. Instead of copying listings from other sites, we build each firm's profile from the public record - so you can see who is real, qualified and regulated before you make contact.

What we do

We join together public data that is normally scattered across separate registers - Companies House, the HMRC anti-money-laundering supervised-business register, and the professional bodies - into a single, verified profile for each firm. Every trust claim on a profile carries its source and the date it was checked, so you are never asked to take our word for it.

How we verify

Facts come only from primary sources - official registers and firms' own public websites - never from scraping other directories. Each claim is stamped with its source, a confidence score and a check date, and is re-checked on a schedule; anything stale or unverified is not shown as a badge. We also filter out companies that carry an accountancy SIC code but are not actually accountancy practices, so a listing means what it says.

Independence

We are not affiliated with Companies House, HMRC or any professional body. Listings are not pay-to-play - a firm's position is based on the record, not on payment. The site is supported by advertising, which is kept separate from the verified data. Firms can claim, correct or enhance their own listing at no cost.

Data sources

Company data is used under the Open Government Licence (Companies House). Regulatory data comes from the HMRC AML register and the professional bodies' own published records. If you believe something on the site is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source.
